Three Ways to Write Odds — Explained with Examples

Example 1 — Team A (odds 2.25): On a ৳500 bet, if you win you get back ৳1,125 — of which ৳625 is profit and the original ৳500 stake. If you lose, ৳500 is gone.
Example 2 — Team B (odds 1.80): Team B is the favourite. A ৳500 bet returns ৳900 if you win (৳400 profit). In American format, −125 means you need to stake ৳125 to win ৳100.
Multi Bet Calculation
Three bets combined: odds 1.60, 1.70 and 1.80 — total odds come to approximately 4.90.
A ৳100 bet returns ৳490 if all win. But if any one bet is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost.
Live Betting — Markets Change with Every Wicket and Over
Placing a bet while a match is in progress is called in-play or live betting. The key feature of this market is that odds change instantly with every wicket that falls or every big shot played.
Say Team A is 140 for 3 after 15 overs — they are the favourite. But if two wickets fall in the next over, Team B's odds of winning will shorten and Team A's will lengthen. Watching these changes and then deciding is the main attraction of live betting.
In live betting you need to make decisions quickly — markets sometimes open for only a few seconds. Having a plan in advance and setting a budget beforehand leads to a better experience.
